Archie Rose Double Malt Whisky is the third release in the Fundamental Spirits range and is crafted from a blend of the rye and barley malts that underpin Archie Rose Single Malt Whisky (eight-time winner of Australia’s Best Single Malt) and Rye Malt Whisky (three-time winner of World’s Best Rye).
Double Malt Whisky is distilled on our traditional copper pot stills, then matured in Australian apera, sherry, bourbon and virgin American oak casks. It showcases the bright, grassy fruitiness of malted rye backed up by rich aromas of Aussie fortified wine, vanilla from American oak and the smooth sweetness of local malted barley. The result is a remarkably complex whisky with notes of apricot jam smeared on toasted rye bread, fragrant oak and a hint of milk chocolate, finishing with honey-roasted macadamia nuts, ripe tropical fruits and baking spices.
Unlike many other affordable whiskies on the market, Archie Rose Double Malt Whisky is not a blended whisky. It’s made 100% on traditional pot stills at one location - our Botany Distillery in Sydney. Never heard the term “double malt” before? That’s because it’s an Australian first - a new style combining both malted rye grain and malted barley for a uniquely Australian, Archie Rose twist.
