More about Vodka

Vodka is a clear, distilled spirit traditionally made from fermented grains or potatoes. Today, most modern vodkas are grain-based, which often gives a lighter flavour profile, but it can also be made from any other fermentable ingredients like grapes, sugar or whey. It’s typically distilled multiple times (you’ll see a lot of labels with “triple-distilled vodka”) to get rid of impurities, resulting in a smooth, neutral flavour with little aroma or taste. That profile makes vodka perfect for mixing into cocktails and a party favourite.

By law in many countries, vodka must be at least 37.5% alcohol by volume (ABV), though it's often bottled at a percentage of 40% ABV. While vodka is most famously associated with Eastern Europe, it’s now produced all over the world - including here in Australia, where local craft versions are gaining popularity for their quality and unique twists.
